Mr Sam RhodesCo-Chair
Mr Sam Rhodes
Sam brings his experience as a business leader in the international corporate events industry to his role supporting the school. He runs a creative agency that delivers global conferences and product launches, combining expertise in technical production, brand experience design, and business operations.
A strong advocate for the performing arts, he enjoys music, theatre, and community involvement through a local theatre group.
He lives in Widmer End with his wife and young family, and is committed to helping the school thrive by bringing a practical and creative perspective to its strategic direction.

Mrs Sophie BrownCo-Chair
Mrs Sophie Brown
Sophie has become a full time Mum to her two sons after being made redundant from her career in Regional HR for a large retail business. She brings her experience in People Planning, Training and Development, and Team Wellbeing to her role.
Sophie has always enjoyed cooking and baking, and these skills are used regularly for bake sales and cricket teas for various sports clubs and charity sales in the village.
She lives in Holmer Green with her husband Pete and two sons, Jack and Max. Both of her sons attended Holmer Green First School and Pre-School and thoroughly enjoyed their time there. Sophie is enjoying being able to give something back to the school and supporting the team through her role as a Governor.

Mr Daniel MasonVice Chair
Mr Daniel Mason
Daniel works for a global technology company, within the Education and Medical sectors, as Head of Marketing. He has worked for two decades in marketing roles across automotive, consumer electronics, nursery and parenting, education and medical sectors - and is experienced in large scale businesses and management roles. His role in education provides knowledge of DfE long term strategies and input for the school's planning.
A strong advocate for sustainability, he brings a passion for conscious and purpose driven approaches to life and learning. A keen sports fan and (as often as possible) participant.
Daniel is local, but dreams of a home by the sea - one day!

Mrs Gillian JonesHeadteacher
Mrs Gillian Jones
Gillian has been a dedicated member of our school community for over 14 years. She originally joined the school as a Class Teacher/Deputy Head and has proudly served as Headteacher for the last 8 years. Throughout her time at the school, Gillian has remained passionate about helping children succeed and enjoy their education.
A driven and committed leader, Gillian regularly engages with educational research to continually refine and improve practice across the whole school. Her deep-rooted commitment to the pupils, staff and wider school community is evident in everything she does. She always has the best interests of the children at heart and is proud to lead Holmer Green First School and Pre-School.

Mr John Hobson
John brings extensive experience in customer service and operations leadership, with roles in the entertainment, events, and retail sectors. He is currently Customer Service Operations Director at Blackhawk Network, a global leader in gift card and payment services.
A local resident of Widmer End, John lives with his wife and young son, who attends the school. Passionate about aviation, sport, and travel, he brings curiosity and enthusiasm to his role as a parent governor.
John is committed to supporting the school's continued success and helping create a positive environment for all children to thrive.

Mr Malcolm CarterParent Governor
Mr Malcolm Carter
With over 20 years' experience in eCommerce and retail strategy, Malcolm is Digital Director at The Entertainer - a global toy company focused on bringing joy and learning to children. He also advises small and start-up tech businesses on digital marketing and growth strategies.
Malcolm is passionate about creativity, education, and community. A Holmer Green resident, he helps organise local events and enjoys music, playing guitar in a number of successful bands and performing at festivals across the UK.
As a parent of two young children, he is extremely proud to serve as a Governor, supporting the school's mission to provide a safe, inspiring, and nurturing environment for all children.

Miss Jackie TrattnerStaff Governor
Miss Jackie Trattner
Jackie is proud to serve as a staff governor on the governing body. She has been part of our school community for the past 10 years, working across Early Years, Year One and Year Two as a Class Teacher and Year Leader.
Jackie thoroughly enjoys working with children of all ages and is especially passionate about her role as the school's SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator). She is dedicated to ensuring that every child receives the support they need, both within school and through close collaboration with external agencies.
Jackie is committed, compassionate, and whole heartedly invested in the children, families and wider school community. She absolutely loves being a part of the Holmer Green First School and Pre-School family.

Mrs Siobhan PearceStaff Governor
Mrs Siobhan Pearce
Having worked in IT as a software developer for 25 years, Siobhan switched to a career in education joining the school initially as a Learning Support Assistant and subsequently as a Teaching Assistant. She is also the School Travel Plan Coordinator working with the Travel Ambassadors to promote active and safe travel and an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant supporting children with their emotional well-being,
Siobhan is an avid quizzer and participates in local quizzes weekly with her quiz team. She loves going out and socialising whether that is at a concert, at the theatre, at book club or just in a café over a cup of tea and a slice of cake!
She has lived in Holmer Green since 1998 having moved to England from Northern Ireland in the late 1980s. She lives with her husband Sean and son Joseph (who attended all three schools in the village) and has two spoilt cats, Minnie and Scooter.
Siobhan is enjoying being a governor as it allows her to find out more about what goes on behind the scenes, contribute towards the future of the school and, also, to develop a different and fuller perspective of the school community.
